Solved: Playback stopped working—no sound

Ever since the very first time I booted Dorico and put a few notes in, playback has worked fine.

Last night it just stopped. Tried rebooting Dorico, then rebooting the Mac. Left the Mac off overnight, but still a problem this morning.

Any thoughts of things I should look at?

Never mind. I opened a different Dorico project, hit Playback, and it worked. Returned to original project, and it worked. Gremlins I guess…

For future reference, it would be worth trying Play > Load Sounds for Unassigned Instruments in the score if it doesn’t play back.

There are also some bugs we found in 1.0 where audio devices wouldn’t be correctly reconnected when loading scores that should hopefully be fixed in the forthcoming update.
