Good evening everyone!
Just a simple question: if from my PC with Cubase I send midi clock to a physical port with the Yamaha MD-BT01, will Cubasis 2 on my iPad slave to it?
Thanks in advance for your attention, have a good night!
Hi daksha,
When MIDI clock is activated, the following signals are sent to all the connected MIDI devices and background apps:
- MIDI clock is sent continuously during playback
- MIDI start, continue and stop messages are sent when playback is toggled
The MIDI song position pointer is sent when the playhead is positioned.
Note:
MIDI clock can only be used to synchronize MIDI data, not digital audio.
Cubasis does not support being a MIDI clock slave (i.e. cannot receive MIDI clock parameters from other devices).
Best,
Lars
Thanks a lot Lars !! Ouch, this is a pity
I hope this will change someday…slaving it to my PC running Cubase, could be an effective way to manage iOS synths and integrate them in bigger studio projects.
Thanks again, have a good evening!
Thanks for your message.
So far we have no plans to change the behaviour mid-term, but maybe we’ll do at a later time.
Best,
Lars
Hi,
the cubasis manual still reads
Cubasis does not support being a MIDI clock slave (i.e. cannot receive MIDI clock parameters from other devices).
+1 for this feature request.
I thought my search for a MIDI-Sequencer will end with Cubasis but without this feature Cubasis is useless for my personal needs.
All the best,
