Hi! I play in a band, and we use VSTs to play samples. We also perform live with our instruments: guitar, drums, bass, and vocals. We recently updated the VST software to version 3.050 and are using a UMC 1820 audio interface. The software detects the interface correctly, but we’ve lost all the output connections for our live instruments. We’ve configured the instrument outputs, but no sound is coming out. The signals are reaching the audio interface fine, but they aren’t getting into the VST and no level meters are active in the mixer, except for the samples. The samples have retained their settings and are working properly. Can anyone help us? Thanks.
What connections are you talking about, MIDI, Audio, or both?
You should look at “Devices/Connections” to see what is connected where. The left column (editable) shows the user defined name (note this is used in the project to find a connection; you will be warned if you try to rename it), the right column shows the connected hardware port (if any, else “nc”).
Connections are saved with the project, and locally when exiting VST Live. Also, each port can hold multiple hardware connections which allows it to move a project from one hardware environment to another (studio/rehearsal/gig).
