Some Layers are suddenly detuned

I’m having a problem where, when I load a project, sometimes a layer in some songs is out of tune by a semitone. The MIDI monitor displays it correctly; I press D3, and it’s recognized as D3, but it plays C#3.

Of course, I can fix this by detuning the layer by a semitone, but the problem is that this error occurs randomly and isn’t reproducible. For example, I’ll be playing a set, and on the 20th load, it happens with song 7, layer 1. Then on the 35th load, it happens with song 12, layer 3, and so on. So I can’t predict it, and I end up playing the layers a semitone out of tune. You can imagine how that sounds.

For your information: This only happens with “new” songs so far, meaning songs I added to the project in 2025. Songs from 2024 are not affected, and this has only been happening for about four weeks. I don’t know if this information is helpful.

I’m using version 2.2.94

Have you tried blocking the pitch bend and reloading the project to see if the issue is related to this?

Okay, so the problem seems to be solvable by manually adjusting the pitch bend in the layer and then setting it to “NOT SET”. But that can’t be the solution, since it keeps happening randomly with a song.

Nevertheless, thank you very much for your answer; it pointed me in the right direction. I’m now blocking the pitch bend on all layers as a precaution, but I haven’t had to do that yet.

Today I loaded the project and ALL layers (including the global layer) are a semitone lower, meaning when I press F2 (F2 is also recognized in the MIDI monitor) E2 is played. Previously, this only happened with some layers.

I deactivated pitch bend on all sounds, moved it back and forth, and then set it to “NOT SET”. What could be causing this?

I checked again: It’s not the keyboard (the layers are also out of tune with a different keyboard). It’s not the VST instruments (since some could be tuned by 2 semitones, others by 12 semitones, but without exception, they’re all played a semitone too low). And I’ve tried toggling BLOCKED on and off for every single layer, as well as adjusting the pitch bend up and down and even setting it to 0%, etc. Nothing helps.

Okay, I found the solution (at least for today): There is a Detune-Option for each layer and in the top for each part. Don’t know how useful that is and don’t know who changed this (I did not recognized this button before), but it was set to “1”. I set it to 0 and it is working.
