I’m using Dorico 5.1.70 with NP 4.5, NPPE and BBCSO core.
I’ve run into a problem using strings divisi. I have independent voice playback enabled and the two staves are feeding different channels in Noteperformer.
If I have the violin instrument set up with two staves in NPPE, unison notes are not played properly. The note sounds, but then it cuts off in both staves as soon as the end of the shortest note of the two occurs, as per the C in the second bar of this example.
However, strangely, this does not always happen. In the first bar, the A on the second staff plays for its full length.
I can get round this by loading separate instruments with one staff each in NPPE, but this generates horrible phasing when the two staves are playing in unison.
Does anyone have any experience of this problem, and a solution?
Edit: I just had a brainwave. I altered the playback start of the minim C in bar 2 by -20, and now it plays the full length. But now I suspect playback of the unison note on the other staff is not happening at all, which is going to give the wrong balance between the parts. So even with this workaround, there is a problem.
