Could you help me, what would be the easiest way to achieve this?
I print double sided on A4. Parts generally then starts on the front of first paper. Technically called a right page layout. Works for most parts. Rarely bothers with front page matter, saving on paper.
But some parts would really be better of starting on the backside of first paper, technically a left page. What would be the easiest way to achieve this for selected parts?
If you don’t need/want an explicit title page, just set Layout Options > Page Setup > Page Numbers > Initial page number to 2. Dorico will interpret that to mean that the first page should be a left-hand page and will adjust everything accordingly.
Thank you asherber. Quick and dirty, sometimes makes it. Starting on page number 2 works. Pages will be numbered one up (ie second page has number 3), but it allows us to “imagine” the blank first page to be page 1. Works good enough for me.
Thank you benwiggy. This is of course the “correct solution” and when I have time I will use that. But couldn’t for my life think it out when short on time.
This is the usual convention – LH pages have even numbers and RH pages have odd numbers. If your first page is a LH page, it still is page 2, to keep even/odd numbers in the right places.
