How would it be possible for someone the create a protocol, ( working between DAWs ) that’s even better than rewire ?
I see rewire, is basically built around MIDI Time Code / MIDI Sync
…so technically, all that is required, kind of already is there…

Rewire was much more than just sync. You could also route audio connections between apps. I used to use REASON that way and it was very efficient use of CPU and allowed me to make custom Reason racks that could be used almost like hardware. Now you have to load a new instance of Reason every time you simply want to use one of their devices. I would welcome a replacement for Rewire.
