Song - "Evergreen"

Hello again. Dale here once again. I’m still not sure how to attach a song to my post. I hope you can refresh my memory again. In the song Evergreen, I’m having trouble trying to change the size of the Title "Evergreen’ but having no luck. I tried clicking on the box handles and other attempts, but I can’t edit the Title. The other problem is the Rehearsal marks. While I can reduce the size of the Rehearsal Alphabets, I cannot reduce the size of the border. I tried goint to Library, paragraph styles, rehearsal marks, but then I get stuck. I tried tinkering with “Borders” but it only added another border inside the existing border. FYI, my eyesight isn’t the best, and I try to print my pages as large as possible, while still trhing to cram as much staves and measures on one page if possible. I’ve let out the Top/left/right/ bottom borders on the page margins as much as I can. I’ve also increased the notes and chords sizes a little. This is as far as I’ve gotten so far on Dorico. Thanks for listening.

Hi @Dale_Senaga, in your Project you deactivated the first page template (Layout Options>Page Setup>Flows>Use ‘First’ page template: Never)

So the page visualised now is using the Default Page Template: to change the size of what you see in the header (that now visualises the Flow Title), you would need to change the font size in the Header Paragraph Style. But this would probably exceed the current size of the text frame for the header token that exists in your template, if you increase the font size too much. (You made some adjustment to the frames directly into the layout, which caused page overrides, the red triangle that you see in Engrave mode, on the little page icon on the right panel). It is suggested to always edit the page template, instead.
Also you would need to lower the upper margin of the Music frame, in the Default page template, to avoid collisions.

A better way would be to reactivate the usage of the First page template in Layout Options, and then edit the Title Paragraph Style font size. So you have also access to composer infos display, whose tokens are already present in the First page template. Or you can substitute the (flow or project) composer token with the (flow or project) arranger, or add a token for the arranger, if you want to have also the composer name, which is always a good thing

To edit the size of the rehearsal marks border, you need to go in Engraving Options>Rehersal Marks>Enclosure.

Here a possible version of your project (I also removed all manual positioning of chord symbols, and used instead the global Engraving options. Also I reset the layout, and let Dorico decide the casting off, so the distribution of music is more natural, all just with global Options):

Christian, your rendition of “Evergreen” is great! Is it ok to use your version as a sample and use it from as one of my templates? I don’t know if I can make all the adjustments you suggested since I’m very forgetful. Many thanks!

Of course, yes.
