I have always liked this tune, and have long wanted to do something with it. So, I did this. It’s 4 (4 1/2 now) textural settings of the tune. It’s scored for Bb Trumpet, Glockenspiel, Snare Drum and Strings. Rather than do a new post, I’ll just add it here. I like the “Hey, Sir Ass, Hey!” part at the end of the melody, so decided to add a ‘codetta.’ I think this will be the final form.
I used NP 5.0’s NPPEs with BBCSO Core for Trumpet, Timp.,Glock. & Snare; GPO5 for Bass; and VSL Prime Elite Strings for Violins, Viola & Cello. The reverb is Steinberg’s RoowmWorks ‘Cathedral’. Dorico is such a delight for me to compose with
