Good Friday, everyone! I have a 3/4 time/meter 52 bars into my piece. I’m wanting more space between the barline in the previous measure and the time signature. How can I achieve this? The screenshot is my end goal. Thanks so much for the help!
Hi,
In Engrave Mode, select the Time Signature. In the properties panel, activate “Spacing offset”, and increase the value:
Thanks! Is there no global setting for this in engraving options? I looked pretty well through the engraving options, but I may have missed a setting. If there’s not, then I understand!
I’m not sure… That would take place in Engraving Options > Spacing Gaps (or Time Signatures) and I can’t find it — but my search was maybe too quick!
Meanwhile, you can select a Time Signature, press Ctrl(Cmd)+Shift+A two or three times, in order to select all the TS. Then, the Spacing Offset property will affect all the TS at once.
So far it’s only the 3/4 time signature that needed the extra spacing. My other question, which somewhat goes along with my original question, is how do I add space between the time signature and the first note of the bar? I only want it for that bar only please.
Engrave Mode, Note Spacing submode: select the square above the note and press Alt+Right arrow several times.
Yeah, I did that earlier, but the first note of the 8th note pair doesn’t move closer to the second note of the pair. When I do that, the bar only gets wider. The notes do not get closer to each other.
In which case, click the circle below the square and move that.
Thanks!
