I ì’m finishing to transcribe an old guitar tune of mine and I decided to make fingering visible only in part, not in full score, just to try and in case I would add some other instrument; I was surprised noticing that in FS layout I have overlaps that I don’t have in Part (both use default font, standard rastral size and note spacing).
Adding to @Derrek’s answer, what’s really important is the system fullness indicator at the right end of the system. If it’s over 100%, then you’ve got more music in that system than Dorico thinks can fit there, according to your settings, and the spacing may not look right.
Thank you @Derrek here I put two full system pics in engrave mode you can recognize full score vs part from the background color…
I also noticed while creating pics that slide in the first bar is missing even if sitting in properties panel are the same for FS and Part… (I can’t even see the slide line in engrave mode even zooming in…)
Have you been using manual note spacing submode (in Engrave mode)? Because I can’t think of a situation where Dorico would mess with the flat, while no overfull is made…
Hi @MarcLarcher, no everything is unchanged (no red handles…); the only difference between two layouts is in vertical spacing (I’ve set Intersystem space is 11 for part and 10 for FS) but my problem is on the horizontal one…
A copy of your project that only contains the players and measures needed to show the issue. If it’s easier for you to just upload the project as is, that’s fine as well.
I really can’t remember when I could have changed that option but, evidently, I did… There are really so many options in Dorico to manage and I’m still trying to manage the basic ones (watching a lot of great JohnBarron’s videos is really very useful but that’s not enough until having to deal with ‘real life’ issues…).
