How do I improve the spacing of voice 1 & 2 in treble staff to make the voice 2 notes closer to voice 1 that has a dotted quarter from the 1st beat? Where is the setting that controls this? Thank you!
Go to Engrave mode > select the first note (the Down-stem Voice I think) > in the Properties zone, select Voice Column Index.
Select both noteheads and click on Swap Voice Order, under Edit > Notations > Voices. (Or just under Voices on the right-click menu).
NB: Swap Voice ORDER, not CONTENTS. For more complex notes, you may have to select the noteheads in Engrave mode.
It would be nice if there were a Notation Option to always swap the noteheads in this situation.
It would be even nicer if we could move the dang dot up a space so the two noteheads could position normally.
For this I would un-dot the quarter, hide the resulting eighth rest, and add a dot as text, in the C-space.
