SPDIF latency

hello,

I’m recording a keyboard through SPDIF, using a midi track to trigger the instrument.


there is a really annoying latency - not so long, but still can be heard - which makes really hard to record.


one weird thing is that once the audio track is recorded - triggered by the midi one - the latency disappear, the recorded audio track is on time as it should be, whereas when it’s played via midi the latency interferes.


don’t sure at all if this is a midi problem or a spdif one, if this is cubase or the audio interface - motu audio express - that makes problems.



version 6.5, mac 10.9.4.



any ideas why?

-High buffer settings on the soundcard
-Plugins with high plugin delay
