There are times when I want a certain text item or symbol to only appear in a particular part - e.g. cue text only appearing in the Full Score and Piano/Conductor and not in instrumental parts.
In Sibelius, there are only options for hiding/showing in Score, Parts or All. Will Dorico provide a more in depth way of selecting in which layouts an object should be present?
In Dorico, edits to properties typically affect only the layout you are currently working on, so if you hide something in one layout (even if that layout is the full score), it affects only that layout. There are exceptions to this (some properties cannot be varied between different layouts) but in general this is how it works.
For the future I envisage a means of propagating a given set of properties from one layout into one or more other layouts as a dedicated editing operation.
