Spector sound different after 5.5.2 upgrade

I have just upgraded from 5.5.1 to 5.5.2 and noticed that my current project sounds very different.
I went back to my notebook with the older version and it is definately different.
It is as if under 5.5.2 some plug-in that Spector is using is not there?

Any one have this problem?

OK, further info:

All was ok under Cubase 5.5.1 Build 609

Now tested under:
Cubase 5.5.2 32 bit - all ok
Cubase 5.5.2 64 bit - WRONG

Start Cubase 5.5.2 32 bit
Just start a new project.
Insert spector in a new track
Create midi part (3 bars) and insert half a bar of C3.
Put locators around it and for ease of comparison export to audio mixdown.

Now repeat for Cubase 5.5.2 64 bit

Listen to the two files

Anyone any idea how to fix this?

Both files.
Cubase552-32.mp3 (46.4 KB)
Cubase552-64.mp3 (46.4 KB)

Well that’s a rather big difference :open_mouth:
Like it’s playing a different preset…
I don’t have spector but are the values on all the parameters the same?

Hi,
I have compared every setting and they are identical.

However, I used my Cubase 5.2.2 32 bit Spector Crusade patch and tried everything to make it sound like the sound produced using Cubase 5.2.2 64 bit sound.

I could not find any setting that made it sound as dull as on Cubase 5.2.2 64 bit.
However, then I re-loaded Crusader and to my horror I noticed that it did not re-load teh wave forms for A and B oscillators.

So I now wonder if that is the problem, that I changed it on my project under 5.2.2 64 bit.

Is there any way to get back the defaults for the patches?
Should they not come back automatically after re-load?

Just started my Cubase 4 and compared spector settings.
Sound is ok on Cubase 4.

So back to square 1.

On Cubase 5.2.2 64 bit is is wrong.

Can any one try this please?

Would really like to know if the problem is with my installation or with 5.5.2 64bit.

yep, I have a 5.2.2 64 that makes that closed filter sound. :frowning:

Gotta check later in 6.0 32

Any other confirmations?

PLEASE PLEASE

If so I can log it as a bug.

Bump.
There must be others that can check this?
Only takes 5 minutes.
Please?

Bump

yes there seems to be many presets missing from the 64bit version of cubase the 32bit cubase has all the presets inplace

i have noticed when you go to a different preset in the 64bit it just sounds the same, about 10 or more presets there are no changes to the sound all the same

cubase 5.1.1

Thank you,
Any others with Cubase 5 64 bit that can try please?
It looks like it that there is a bug in the 64 bit version or something is missing.
