Many moons ago I invested into SL 10 and pretty much immediately it destroyed the sessions in which I had implemented it by rendering them unusable and there was no rescue path. Because of the ‘best in class’ algorithms for separating different kinds of audio I took a deep breath and invested into SL12. I find ARA a very clumsy environment to work in with this software ( try and get the layers dialogue to stretch out) but if I do simple things just using modules it does what I need it to do. I never use the spectral tools. As I don’t really trust SL I then immediately implement the changes permanently. This has been working OK until recently when it has now started to not allow me to implement the SL permanently. I then close the project but then when I open it I get this
Anyone got thoughts on SL, is this happening to other people? I’d like to drop SL altogether and just have access to the modules. I lost half a day’s work which doesn’t make me a happy bunny.
ARA mode for me will cause a similar crash on hitting ‘process’ on any Unmix modules and some others. I’ve not been able to solve it. Simple fix tasks work fine in ARA (painting out noises).
Standalone works fine for Unmix. So its something in the ARA implementation. I’m on Windows 11. Graphics GT1030.
Sad to hear I am not the only one! Yes it seems SL is best used as standalone but there is no equivalent to RX Connect or is there? Don’t really want to start rendering files in order to fix them.
Strangely since the incident I have found all my key commands have evaporated. Not sure if this is anything to do with this but one way I tried to fix things was to start up the session with no 3rd party plugins. Who knows. All I want to do is get on with editing and creative pursuits and I find myself constantly dealing with this kind of thing. Ho hum.
