OK, folks! (Yipee!!!)
I did find the problem.
It was in the DSPMixFX app. I think I might have opened that up one time in the last 5 years and it was when I was trying to remove the FX from Outputs 5 and 6 on the UR44 so I could use them as regular audio outputs. (I still think that it’s stupid that you can’t do so. That’s 2 wasted hardware outputs that could provide a total of 6 outputs instead of just 4. How can this not just be solved with a firmware update?)
In doing this, I put the master fader all the way down. I didn’t realize it because everything else, including Cubase, worked fine. I had totally forgotten about it.
So, thank you all for your time. It was a simple but hidden fix. Hopefully I can help the next person that runs into this!

Mike? You are not describing what your solution was….
Oh, now I see it. Typically you want this tagged in you first post.
I do not understand all of this, but I notice that the UR44 has more than 2 in- and outputs, is that correct?
My VS100 also has more than 2 in- and outputs, can that has something to do with it, I have it for years now?
I never would have guessed that was the problem!
The UR44 as 6 audio inputs and 4 useable audio outputs.
These were not the cause of the problem. The app that comes with the UR44, DSPMixFX, had its master fader all the way down. As it did not affect Cubase, I didn’t realize there was a problem until trying to use SLP in standalone mode.
Moving that master fader to 0db solved the problem.
Me neither. That’s why it took me a couple of weeks to fix it!![]()
May I suggest marking this post as the solution?
