What if we organize a small online seminar where we can all share our methods and experiences?
I believe it would be easier to just get everybody to login into a zoom meeting at a given time to discuss for a couple of hours than expect one of us will produce quality educational material without financial compensation.
And even IF there is financial compensation, there’s the fact that probably very few of us have any formal training in SL (since there doesn’t seem to be any available), and this makes it harder to charge money in exchange for our efforts.
I myself believe I have a lot to contribute, but I don’t feel confident in making a course or something in those lines.
With Discord we can share specific screens/windows/applications…it’s been a while since I did one tho
Not a bad idea, but would require some advance preparation for at least some agenda and source material.
This is along the lines of my mention of Greg Ondo’s work with Cubase on YouTube. Of course, Greg’s knowledge of Cubase likely exceeds most of our collective knowledge of SL, but maybe not!
I’m not that familiar with Discord and generally avoid more platforms to consume my time and generate more spam. I will reconsider if it seems worthwhile.
The processing time of some of the modules seems more amenable to video rather than live but all ideas should be on the table if there’s adequate interest.
I just watched this. VO is sooooo much better than previous tuts (where I complained 'bout it).
I’m not sure how much this video helps me with real world work. I have my workflow down in SLP12; I always approach every job the same way nowadays and all in standalone. I just very seldom work on music; and I don’t even begin to attempt to separate too much musical instruments which could lead to months of unravelling attempts. I have other stuff to do while the unmix of music tech improves.
Give me a location recording and and I’m off! Field ambience or a location IV…two mics to phase align…those I know what I can and can’t do with.
I’ll wait a little while to get SL13 at this stage.
