SpectraLayers free but 9 demands a licence?

Hey. Suddenly SpectraLayers one demands a licence? I can see in my SDA (steinbergdownloadassitant) that i have downloaded and installed SL9pro but i haven’t done that ? How do i solve this? I’ve tried everything, including put SL9 in the bin and tried starting cubase11pro and hope that the DAW recognise my SL-one exists on my macbookair (11.7.6 BigSur). I know i used it (SL-one) in Juli 2023 with my CB11PRO ,with no problems but now my computer has switched to SL9 without my permission to download SL9!? SL-one just works outside the program now cause the program is still there. How do i solve this without buying a new licence for 3000SEK .SpectraLayers one (7) came with cubase11PRO and worked really good. Thank U for any help.

Just uninstall SpectraLayers 9 and reinstall SpectraLayers 7:

Hey there
I edited my post. Can you please read it again and come back

If your answer is the same as your first reply…ARE U sure ? I`ve tried to unistall 9 but i dont really know how to? Do i just put 9 in the bin as 7 and then hit the steinberg download assistant to reinstall?
Thanks

Between version 7 and version 9 SL switched from the eLicenser system to the Steinberg Activation Manager system (different licenses). So in order to use SL One 9 you need a Cubase 12 license (which also use the Steinberg Activation Manager), as opposed to Cubase 11 which use an eLicenser license.

I understand. What happen though? I’ve not installed 9 in my system (i’m a nerd  ).
This is a mystery to me.
I have super control about my installations  and i have no memory about installing 9 as i know that its just me working on my computer. This is really weird…

If i uninstall 9, do i just put it in the bin?

I suppose you’re on mac if you’re not familiar with app uninstall (which is rather a Windows concept). Yes just throw it in the bin and reinstall SL7.

I’ll give it a go and come back.
Thanks

When i now open Cubase 11 Pro, what should i choose to make it normal again?
(I’ve saved the "terminal debunk messages as well in case of)
Thanks

Just click OK as-is

And now when i am trying to open up my project where i have used SL, cubase crashes :man_shrugging:

What to do next?
I have reinstalled SL 7 but it seams like i have to change how Cubase starts up?
It’s like it dosnt know i have reinstalled SL 7.

Should i have to restart my Macbbok Air?

Sometime the VST plugin doesn’t properly reinstall. Go to your VST3 folder (Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST3) and delete SpectraLayers.
Now reinstall SpectraLayers 7. And then launch the SpectraLayers 7 standalone application to make sure it’s been properly installed as well.

ok. Done that. Do i have to put the 7 in the bin manually aswell or can i just leave it in the launchpad and go in to Steinberg D Assist and push “install again”?

Thank U for your time. :1st_place_medal:

Now it works.
Thank U again
