Please let articulations (like pizzicato, etc) carry over to the new midi clip when splitting a clip. This is such an annoying thing when working with large orchestral scores and I make changes to arrangements and then have to go through every part and recopy the articulation (only to then later have to delete it to clean up the score. I think at there very least there should be a preference to let articulations be based on the last articulation-similar to how starting a clip with a MIDI note halfway through lets you still hear it even though the actual note on event didn’t get played. Yes, I am aware that I can have articulations that are attached to specific notes, but the problem is then when you are in notation you have to delete the articulation from every single note later.
Having this same issue. I think it makes total sense to have the articulation split when splitting the event. The way it is currently set up is not logical.
I get why they may not want the articulation to continue in a new region started from scratch, but when you split a region, the second half of that split should retain all info from the previous (including sustain state, as well, as a new “on” or “off” point). If the idea is split something, then it’s not logical to make the second half of the split different from the first.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FIX THIS. its so amateur not to at least have this as a preference.
+1 when splitting a Part in the project window the second half should retain the assigned articulation. Using Attribute is not an option for us. Thanks
+1 definitely
Four years later…maybe they’ll get to it one day!
+1 Please Steinberg!!
