In 2023, when Nuendo is able to do pre-record, it is interesting, that is not possible to split clip while its being recorded. Clip is only graphical representation of part of audio file, so it has to be no reasont to lock clips during recoring. I used it while I worked on Sadie workstation and it is realy cool time saving feature. You can cut unnecessary parts, or split chapters on podcasts, or you can have cleaned material even before you press stop.
