Splitting clips wipes out plug in settings

hi
I’m experiencing a situation where any clip I split with a master rig plug in inserted, all the splits, (original and any other) then wipes out my plug in settings and puts them back to default… is there a setting for this?

Does it happen with other plugins? This seems like a bug.

It works here (WaveLab 12). How do you split?

hi Justin and PG
so I see there is more to the story, its only happening when the plug is is initially inserted, if the plug in is there already, then it behaves as expected…
for example, if I go to clip, insert a master rig, make an eq change, then split the clip 3 times, each clip has a default master rig, all settings gone.
if I remove those splits and go to the original clip, with the master rig already in place, then do the same steps, change an eq, make some splits, all splits now have a master rig with the same eq settings…

If I recall, in some cases the plug-in settings are not transmitted to WaveLab until the plugin window is closed.

Could it be that you’re splitting the clip before ever closing the plug-in window so WaveLab essentially thinks the plug-in was left in the default state when you split the clips?

I think because of this I subconsciously always close all plug-in windows before splitting any clips.

I believe you are on to somthing, if I insert the effect, then split the clip, the changes are lost, if on the other hand, I insert the effect, make my changes, close the plug in window and make my splits, the changes are retained
well done, and well observed

No problem. I think it’s just one of those quirks of WaveLab that I have gotten used to over the years. I always close plug-in windows to lock in the settings before saving a montage, splitting clips, or doing anything that relies upon the plug-in settings being locked in.
