Sorry, there is no way. The right one becomes always selected.

The solution you’re suggesting doesn’t work if you split parts on multiple tracks (say 48+ tracks).
that’s correct, it only works on a single selected event.
But now I’m curious: What’s the goal of the workflow you’re trying to achieve with selecting and splitting parts on multiple tracks and then needing the left half of all of them selected afterwards?
The reason I would like to keep the first end of the MIDI part selected is because I want to avoid scrolling the project window two times. Using a folder helps a bit, but I still have to scroll to the top of the window…
