Splitting notes 1

I put 3 eight notes in a bar, but I want to split the first eight note. How does this work?

I mean you have 3 eighth notes tied together, but I want the 1st eighth note loose

I assume you mean beaming?
Select the first note. right-click>beaming>make unbeamed.
