Ssd invalid project file

I archived all my projects from 2023 on to a ssd hard drive last year. I went to open an old project, but all files in that 2023 folder are saying invalid project file.

Hoping someone might have a solution for this?

Thanks

Tried opening with 12 , no joy. It’s looking like the transfer to ssd has corrupted all my projects.

Just hoping someone has solved this issue before.

Don’t you still have the drive you transferred from?

No, I the transferred the files off my MacBook to the ssd to free up storage last year. I just needed to go back to a project this week and all the files in the 2023 folder are now invalid. Never had a problem doing this previously . It was a new drive maybe something wrong with it.

I would try to copy one project back to the Macbook internal just to rule out some weird drive format or permissions issue from this external drive.

Not much of a consolation, however, the situation does reinforce why my entire project histories are regularly backed up to to multiple drives of various flavors, sizes etc.

Especially onto multiple wd black 4tb - 8tb ssd nvme (in my case anyway) as those are super fast to create.

I’m waiting for one of (any) of my ssd drives to fail…which they will someday. When one finally does, I figure I’ll have some sort of context to weigh against the historical lifespans of my old ide drives.

Ok One possibility is that you can use “import project tracks”, and from there start in a new project.
