I can’t get SSL 2 MKII to work with Cubase 10.5. It works with all other applications though, like Logic 12. I’m using Mac with Tahoe 26.5.2 OS.
Is this Cubase-version too old?
Should be fine.
In what way can you not get it to work?
I can’t get sound neither in nor out. I can’t get the channels acitivated. The main in and out channels look as if they are active in Studio Setup - but no. In Logic and other apps it works though.
And how do they look in audio connections?
See attached screenshots. SSL 2 MKII works with all other applications, including Logic Pro.
So it can’t be the iOS. Which is the latest btw - Tahoe 26.5.2-
And SSL audio interfaces don’t have any control panel applications, like Apogee Duet for example. At least not for Mac. So not much to work with. It is just supposed to plug and play.
But yeah I found a firmware update that I installed, but it did nothing.
My main suspicion is that Cubase 10.5 is just too old to communicate with SSL 2 MKII.
So what happens when you import a wav file and hit play…does cursor move? Do you get meter movement on the track? Do you get meter movement on the stereo out?
Cursor moves yes. Meter movement no. I think Cubase 10.5 and the latest iOS are not compatible. Although Apogee Duet works - but only the output.
I’m a Windows user but do you have to allow the microphone for Cubase 10.5?
The mic privacy would certainly explain why apogee only works for output but not why ssl has neither in nor out. It could well be that 10.5 is just not Tahoe compatible.
You could maybe trial C15 to confirm that.
The general compatibility and the privacy settings might indeed play an important role here.
