Staccato Dot on first note in tie

I’m still struggling grasping the new Score editor a bit. The staccato dot note symbol seems to be added at the “end of the tied note” in Cubase 14. This issue has been resolved in Dorico (5 years ago or so) I wonder where I can find this Articulation setting in Cubase 14. I do not think it is a sensible default practice to place staccato dots like that anyways. This is especially annoying since the ScoreEditor seems to have lost the concept of Syncopation as well, can’t find the word “syncope” in the manual anymore at least. If anyone can help me out here - many thanks!

There isn’t currently the option in the Score Editor to add the staccato at the start of the tied note. My understanding is that the score editor defaults to staccato at the end of the note because it’s articulation related to the detachment that comes at the end of the note.

For syncopation, the Dorico/Score Editor concepts are about Beat Grouping. The current release doesn’t have any beat grouping options but the next update should have more options.

Stacccare - “to separate” indeed. Well, it is a highly theoretical concept. What about a single staccato note? Where is it separated from? in practice it just means “short” If a brass instrument a prima vista would have to read until the end of the note to figure out the note should have been played short they’d be too late.
