Hi Experts, I just started with Dorico coming from Sibelius and maybe you can help me understand what I am doing wrong.
When I include a staccato note, all following notes in the score are played as staccato, although they are not marked so. The VSL Library (Orchestral Strings from Note Performer), switches to Staccato and stays there. The Playing technique lane in Play mode shows the staccato notes correctly assigned and blank for the rest.
This is the behavior I would expect if the Playing Technique for Staccato was Direction, but it is Attribute.
I though that perhaps I needed to include a Natural Base switch in the Expression Map pointing to Sustain, so it can revert to it after the staccato note, but then the whole score is played as Natural. The staccato notes are shortened (but not played staccato) and the VSL library doesn’t move from “Sustain”
As you can see, I am utterly confused
