Now that we have Cantai, that understands different words on repeats, is there a way to start playback at the 2nd or 3rd verse?

I don’t understand this remark, might be caused by me not being a native english speaker though.
But you asked if something was possible, @derhannes linked an earlier topic which tells it isn’t possible yet, and showed a workaround which might be of use to you.

the purpose of addons like Cantai is their simple implementation, having a “normal” score and still make it “sing”. If I have to fiddle with segno signs, etc, I might as well write out the repetition, then I can start from wherever I want, which beats the purpose of having just one score for both notation and playback.
My remark was meant to “bump” the thread for the wonderful Dorico programmers of ours to see it and put it on the todo list.
No need to bump the thread; the Development Team has a to-do list.
Not only that, but this will have been on it already given the number of times it’s come up before. However: the list is long, the team is small, and even though they take note of every post on here it is not a democracy.
