Starts voice greyed out

I want Dorico to hide the quaver rest shown in the attachement. However when I click on the note G (highlighted in the attached photo) and click on the ‘start voice’ option, the option goes back off by itself, ignoring my command.

Any suggestions on how to start the voice on G, or how to hide the quaver rest?

Select the rest and go Edit > Remove rests.

“Starts voice” only works when it is either preceded by an “Ends voice” or when it is the first instance of that voice in a flow.
