Steinberg Audio Power Scheme

Just installed Cubase 6. (Windows 7 64 bit).

I am advised to activate the "Steinberg Audio Power Scheme. I can see where to do it, no problem. But before I do, does anyone know exactly what this scheme does?

If it is relevant, I use an RME Fireface 800.

It prevents all your hardware from going into sleepmode or deactivating after not being used for a while.
It draws more power than regular power schemes but it can prevent hickups when hardware is starting back up again.

Thanks. However, I would have thought that “Always On” (which I guess from your explanation is what the power scheme does), is what we have as a basic setup anyway.

Wrote a few lines about it in this post, in short the Audio Power scheme digs deeper than the settings found under “Power options”.

OK, thanks!
