Impossible. Stop wasting your life away on this. Not going to happen. Besides, it’s Craig Anderton you need to speak to - nothing to do with Steinberg…
cool, thanks for info! ![]()
Dunno about that. Craig made the hardware version for sure …but I don’t recall him ever speaking about having tech knowledge on how to code a vst on anything ![]()
It appears Cube-Tech and Steinberg invented the original quadrafuzz vst model, inspired by Craig’s hardware version. At least that’s how I read the history.
Ok, but would still need his say-so/approval surely, at some point, before any said plugin could officially be brought back to life (or be ‘inspired by’).? IIRC, his name was literally on the cover of Quadrafuzz 1 UI
Bandlab has a similar problem with their current Sonar. It’s paid but doesn’t ship with any of the old Sonar Platinum instruments because many of them were developed by third parties and the acquisition of Cakewalk from Gibson did not include those assets. Many of those plugins were developed by the now defunct rgc:audio, some of them come from Nomad Factory and so on.
This is all fine and dandy that Steinberg offers us these ancient vsts for free. It does, however, feel a wee bit gimmicky to me. Personally, I would much prefer if Steinberg offered something really useful for once, instead of piling on with new libraries of loops, instruments, fx, and other stuff I never use.
Given the underperforming state of the current audio engine, which is not able to make the most of modern multicore cpus, here is a suggestion: How about Steinberg developing and firmly integrating Audiogridder into Cubendo? That would not be a fix of the lacklustre multicore utilisation. But at least it would show in a concrete way that Steinberg are finally taking this issue seriously.
This is my modest proposal, until the audio engine is finally well and truly updated.
Best.

Could you not get the .dll from an older version of Cubase and then run it with JBridge?
Yes, are other ways to make it work
but still not great solutions, I am wondering how close MultiFuzz is to QFv1. We need to find John C. haha ![]()
Also, why is Model-E not provided considering it was part of the original VST Classics package?
I asked for a VST3 version of VB-1 in the past. I think this instrument still has something to give, even in the present. Now that I got it I am a happy camper.
Not interested so much in the other ones, but they are easy to surpress in my custom plugin collection, so I don’t mind.
Was just about to ask the same, I have the VST 2.4 version
+1 Steinberg Classics! ![]()
