Steinberg Classics Presets

Should there be presets in Steinberg Classics? There are none in VB-1, Neon, CS-40 and Karlette
In LM-7 I See 6 presets.

I’m seeing them in VB-1 and Neon, I’ve not checked the others yet. How are you selecting the presets?

I click where the presets are located

I can see the presets for my copies. The drum one is like yours also as in only 6 presets.

I couldn’t install it directly from the download center. It placed the installation file in my download folder and I installed it from there

I’ve installed on my MacBook Air and MacBook Mini now and the presets are present for all instruments. Why couldn’t you install from The Steinberg Download Assistant, did you get an email from Steinberg confirming the activation?

Hello @feinsinn - if there’s still no joy after checking all is properly activated, try a forced re-scan of hard-drives from within mediabay. You can double-check in the Steinberg Library Manager where your Steinberg sounds/instruments are actually located post installation and just target those for the re-scan.

HTH.!

Bob

I get this error. Seems the download manager can’t update itself

It is just the Activation Manager that fails, you can download it separately from here.

I uninstalled download center and installed the suggested 4 apps. Now it seems to work again. Ran mole Mac cleaner yesterday, maybe that messed something up? Presets still not there, will check now the re-scan

On one hand I understand the attraction of those “cleaners” but on the other hand, over the years I’ve seen way too many reports of unintended consequences of running them, so I avoid them like the plague.

Totally. It’s uncontrollable crap. Once, one of them wiped out my entire vst3 folder. Apparently it decided that all the plugins are rubbish

Hey everyone,

Not sure if this fits here, but wanted to point this out, because this took me a little while to figure out.

After a lot of head scratching, I was also unable to locate the presets..

Then, I discovered in Live (my main DAW) that I can click the plug-in entries themselves, and they expand to reveal the plug-in presets..

Anyway, just posting this here, in case someone else comes looking and if this is also a good solution for you as well..

On my installation, all of them have presets except Karlette. There’s not even a folder for it where the presets are installed.

Isn’t it ironic, 30 years later to deal with such basic problems
