Any one else having issues with Steinberg Download Assistant 1.40.1 & Activation Manager 1.9.0 crashing … beach balling … not connecting?
What OS are you using?
Works fine here.
Normally, Activity Monitor shows unresponsive apps in red.
It looks like it’s hanging, rather than crashing (which would be quitting ‘violently’).
How long have you left it?
Maybe it’s just slow partly because of the high CPU usage of the search party daemon ?
You could try to restart that and see if you notice any difference.
Those percentage are per core, so 102% is not that much on an 8- or 10-core CPU.
But you can always check the Total usage in the summary at the bottom.
Yes, it usually hangs, rather than crashes. But it has just crashed at times, all with V3.0.2 in my case.
Daniel, without trying to be snarky, rude, or demeaning — on which one of your many computers are you having a problem with this? Have you checked the minimum specs to verify that the software can run on it? 
(From another thread, you have remarked that many of your computers are rather outdated! — no offense intended!)

For v3.0.2 I was having the freezes/crashes with both my M3 MacBook Air (2TB SSD & 24GB RAM running Sequoia), as well as my M1 MacBook Air (1TB/16GB running Tahoe)… because those two Macs were having the same issues, I never tried to use my M1 MacStudio, nor my M4 MacMini. I have since un-installed v3.0.2 and re-installed v3.0 which is working fine now.
I never use Dorico nor VSL nor Logic 11/12 on any of the older Macs as they can no longer handle it.
On the outdated Macs, I was referring to the Intel v3.1 Cantai download that was available, which I had initially thought I could at least run on my 2013 Trashcan, which I can not.
Rest assured, I still have the above M1’s, M3 & M4 Macs. My 2014 MM’s and my M1 MM’s are used as Dropbox & Plex servers, so that’s why I keep my old comps around. Sorry for the confusion.

But yes, my current Macs using Dorico and Steinberg apps are the Macs listed above.
Both my M3 & M4 Macs are probably long in the tooth to be running Cantai, I agree. My M1 Mac Studio (2TB SSD, 32GB running Sequoia) is probably ready to be put out to pasture I’m assuming as well, which is why I’m looking at the new M5 Mac Mini so I can get a comp with 64GB and a higher CPU without shelling out $4k.
Not sure if my Macs are not powerful enough to run Download Assistant or Activation. I am on the road today and hopefully when I get home the issues will be ironed out. I’ll report back.
For what it is worth, all your silicon macs should be perfectly ok to run Dorico and all the extra software that goes with it…
