The download assistant still works, just looks cursed.
I realize the Download Assistant starts for you, but I wonder if trying to troubleshoot potential font related issues anyway, might work for you?
I have seen this issue reported in this forum a couple of times before. I can’t recall for sure if there was a solution to it but I think there was.
If you do a Cubase forum search you might find these topics. It only happens on macOS.
