Steinberg Download Assistant for Apple Silicone

Hello,

MacOS Tahoe 26.4 now issues a warning that Intel applications will soon no longer be supported when I start Steinberg Download Assistant. Will there be an Apple Silicone native version any time soon? I don’t know Apple’s exact timeline, but this is the first time I see the warning so I assume it will be in a not too distant future.

Hello. I got this message as well today. acOS Tahoe 26.4.1 But I think that I already installed the last version (1.39.3) So, what I need to do?

Uninstall/Reinstall
And… maybe turn off Rosetta

You don’t need to do anything at the moment as the text states

will not open in a future release of macOS

This “future release” is not yet available to anyone and if that version is released the Download Assistant will have had an update before.

I don’t use Rosetta.

OK, thank you very much.

It is EOL 2027, but less than a year from AppleSeed drops it. I guess it will be part of next cubase. However is there any statements on cubase/steinberg support for the intel version? Tahoe is the last OS with Intel support and it EOL in 2028.

Steinberg Download Assistant is the only app in Steinberg vast app portfolio that is NOT AS native and yet it is crucial for installing, activating and updating your existing native Apple Silicone apps… What a joke…

BTW; SDA is still using old Java runtime environment and third-party frameworks for SDA… WTF…?!

Maybe it would be a good opportunity to consolidate all 3 apps into one? Like the Native Access for example. Just a humble suggestion

Steinberg is the only one company that requires 3 separate apps for the software management from all the software that I collected over the last 20 years.
