Steinberg Download Assistant NOT compatible with AS MacOs

So when can we expect to have native Apple MacOs Download Assistant available?

The only app in Steinberg portfolio that is NOT AS native… What a joke, Not funny though.

What is the actual problem though? Rosetta 2 will be fully supported in macOS 27. So there will be almost 1.5 years until a macOS version gets released where the current version of SDA might not work anymore (parts of Rosetta will still be supported in macOS 28).

But what is the problem with that? Does it not work properly?

Rosetta 2 only requires around 100 MB itself and then a bit for its cache. And it’s a translation layer, it’s not like a process that runs all the time and is using up resources.

If you wouldn’t know that an application is not native, you would not notice in many cases.

I get this notification on another app, but it’s the same issue
in a near, well not so near after all, future, Apple will drop Rosetta 2 and abandon all intel based code
so then the SDA will be unusable as well.

But I guess Steinberg is already aware and working on it though :slight_smile:

In the near future will be late Summer '27 as far as Apple has communicated. That should be plenty of time still.
