Finale migrant, upgrading from Dorico 5 to 6. Beginning the installation process, I received the following message (“A connection to the download server could not be established. Check your internet connection and try again.”) despite the fact that my internet connection is working fine. Double-checked, tried again, … same message. Rebooted and checked yet again … still no luck. Any suggestions? Thank you.

The Download Assistant was updated a few weeks ago, due to expired certificates. Just download and install the current release from here
Thank you for your reply. I have downloaded the new Download Assistant, but the installer is not accepting my username and/or password.
After double-clicking on the Steinberg Download Assistant setup icon, a popup window “Steinberg Download Assistant” defaults with my name (Gene Biringer) and prompts for my password, but when I enter the correct password, the installer fails to launch (popup window shakes laterally). Next I replaced my defaulted name with my email address, along with my password. Still no luck. Next I changed my password, restarted my laptop, and tried the same procedures, again to no avail.
Not sure what else to do? I even tried to drag the older Download Assistant into the Trash, but it required my username and password to do so, but of course they are being accepted.
Thank you for whatever suggestions you can offer.
Gene
Have you ever had a different email you might have used to log onto Steinberg years ago? That is sometimes the case.
Are you using Macintosh?
Let your username (Gene Biringer) be there and the password you have to use is your user’s password you use to log in to your Mac.
Thank you; using the password for my Mac worked. I must say, that is counterintuitive because of the way the popup window presents itself as a Steinberg tool.
All the same, I’m grateful for your advice. Yes, I’m a Mac user.

So on the Steinberg site you clicked on the Forgot Password link, received e-mail from Steinberg and changed your mySteinberg password, right?
