Besides GA 5 Update is much too expensive it’s also not possible to download it because the Steinberg Download Assistant is not working. It only throws an error with connection not possible.
If looking at some logs the issue is related to wrong certificates on their webserver, so connection is closed and nothing more.
It’s hosted on Amazon Webservices and the hostname is from Steinberg (*.steinberg.net) but the certificate is still from Amazon (*amazonaws.com) so the error is DLG_FLAGS_SEC_CERT_CN_INVALID or inside the java download assistant: cause: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target.
Btw. that’s also the reason why the Steinberg hub in Cubase is not working.
What’s the solution and why Steinberg is not using their wildcard certificate to solve it, and btw. I don’t want to import an amazonaws certificate into my trusted certificate store and I also don’t want to trust websites with a certificate mismatch?!
