Steinberg please!! -better track management in Cubase
To me, even if it is purely just for the mixer, not in the arrange,- Scrap/update the silly Can/Hide functions and have options that include showing selected tracks only, show folder contents etc…
I suspect that may be quite easy to implement as Cubase already has the code and functionality for hiding tracks setup, its just not been used to its potential.
I agree that that is long overdue for an update. The sticky in the back of my mind is that, as I pointed out in another thread, the mixer has been largely unchanged since the mammoth so we won’t know when this is likely to change or how. Someone else pointed out it’s “progress” but progress has to be well thought out in advance or it isn’t progress.
Where I differ from you is that, as none of us know how the program architecture works, nobody can say from here that it would be easy or hard to do. It sounds like an easy cosmetic adjustment but I’d hate to suggest to the programmers that “it may be quite easy”. Maybe, depending on the programming software, it has been used to it’s full potential.

What I suspect is that track management in the mixer is not the only thing that needs to be looked at. Maybe we need a whole personalised, modular mixer that we can assemble for ourselves, track, colour, meters, shape?! (a round rotatable mixer?) or does that get too mad and we end up customising the DAW more than we actually work with it?

This function is coming. Do a search homies and hometts.

We also had a “Nuendo Inside” session discussing implementation ideas. Unfortunately, the older Nuendo Inside session where we discussed it is not viewable for we have had other discussions about other things.

‘Home gurz,’ da way we sayz it, Bro.’

Very interesting. I thought it was harder to do than just slapping the code around in a dark room.

Cool :sunglasses:

well, then, I guess I am feeling pretty confident then we might see something happening in the next major update (fingers crossed)

thanks for the feedback guys
