Steinberg - Please give us a more solid Dongle!

Hi,

My Dongle just fell apart.
It is hard to believe that licenses worth a lot of money are stored on a cheap plastic covered dongle.

I really don’t want to be too negative here as i like working with Cubase 6 a lot.
But, Steinberg, please give us a nice & sturdy Dongle, ok?

Mine is held together with rubber bands…without them, it looks exactly like yours

how did this happen? Are you plugged in to a lap top? While it still works, I would just buy another one and transfer my licenses to it before it might stop working… Then you would have a bigger problem.

Using gaffers tape here. With just enough space to see the LED’s.

Reminds me of when I first got Cbase in ‘93 and paid almost $900.00 CDN for it
and the ‘copy protection’ came on two $2.00 floppy discs.

I thought mine had died until I re-installed the latest version of eLCC

No.

Gorilla Duct Tape for me on all 4 keys lol…Have two iLok one is from my muse receptor when it first came out, its ancient & has been everywhere in world…Still solid as rock. It cost more $$ but only needed one (the other is spare)

Heresy, I know, but…

Some folks who are using iLoks with a notebook are using a short USB cable between their iLok and their computer to minimize the risk of damaging their iLok.

If you can’t find a short USB cable anywhere else, iLok sells one…
