Steinberg UR12 headphones maximum impedance

Hello. I really know nothing about audio interfaces, can someone explain me what this means (quote from UR12 manual) - “Phones 1/2 Maximum Output Level: 6 mW+6 mW, 40 Ohm”. For example if I connect headphones with 44 or 60 Ohm they will not work? UR12 only compatible with 24-32-40 Ohm headphones?

Yes, higher impedance phones will work fine. The statistic is just a rating @40 Ohm, not a maximum.
