Steinberg's 40th Anniversary Sale

Hello Mr. Quellmann,
I redeemed the voucher for WaveLab Pro 12 from my Steinberg account today.
I had assumed that this would ensure that the invoice would also be issued to me during the ordering process.
The payment was made via my husband’s PayPal account.
At the beginning of the payment process, I was asked to enter an eMail address and a name.
As I assumed that the PayPal account details also belonged there, unfortunately the entire invoice was incorrectly issued to my husband and also sent to him by eMail.
However, I need the invoice issued in my name.
I was able to enter the Download Access Code under my eMail address while logged in and download WaveLab Pro 12, but I have a wrong invoice.
It would be good if the invoice could be rewritten. I have also sent an eMail about this to info@steinberg.net.

Best regards
CKB

Hi, you need to contact Fastspring, our online shop service. You should find the contact in your confirmation email.

Ok, thanks. :sunglasses:

Does this also mean that I could give all my vouchers (as a character string) that I don’t need to anyone as a gift?

And when this (anyone) person redeems the voucher and activates the product in question, this person in turn receives further vouchers, etc…

This reminds me of Albert Einstein’s formula:
e = m * Cubase^2

But what if all 8 billion people in the world have Cubase, Dorico, WaveLab and Absolute installed? Then the aliens will land here and ask for the remaining vouchers…

Hi @Matthias_Quellmann,

I have a Halion 7 licence. If I buy Absolute 6 Full with loyalty voucher, can I transfer this Halion 7 licence to another account? (Eg. to my son’s account.)

Thank You

I think it’s cheaper to do the straightforward crossgrade purchase!

Excuse my English, I don’t want to sound ungrateful but I think Steinberg is being a little disrespectful towards their loyal users by stating that after the eLicenser service ends, upgrading the eLicenser-based products to Steinberg Licensing will no longer be possible and we should buy the full version (again) in the future if we want to upgrade.
Basically Steinberg is telling us to update your software or they won’t care about us anymore. Also I don’t want to loose my license if my dongle malfunctions.
I think we deserve more than a %50 discount on upgrades or at least a free migration to the new online licensing platform. Happy birthday Steinberg

You bought that software almost 4 years ago, you got what you paid for, Steinberg doesn’t owe anyone anything for life.

@Monotremata If you are replying to me I respect your wrong belief

I have been running Cubase on an older mac pro and I am happy to upgrade. but Cubase 13 requires > OSX 12.*. Does steinberg still allow users to access all versions up to the version you have upgraded to? I can run C12 according to the system requirements I found on my i7 Big Sur (latest)

i think if you purchase a software, you should be able to install it on your device. Nobody expects Yamaha/Steinberg to keep supporting it and maintaining it for legacy operating systems, but you should be able to install and run it on a legacy OS if you so chose to. The issue about discontinuing the existing licenseing is that once the desktop you are running it on dies, you can’t re-install and activate it.

Note: this actually happened to me in the past on Win98 with a different old version of legacy Cubase LE. Basically I have the CD and the code, but I can’t install and activate it to use it and that particular system is not meant to run Cubase Pro as its for experimenting and testing sounds on and it also can’t run newer Cubase LE versions.

I have not yet understood

whether a voucher is transferable to another person

or

whether the voucher is personal, so you first have to buy the product personally and only then can you transfer the DAC afterwards to another person.

Exactly, We don’t want future maintenance. We just want to be assured we can access our software if for example anything ever happens to our dongle.

I just upgraded my Cubase 12 Pro to 13, I wish I had received a coupon to upgrade my Halion 6 to 7 :smiling_face_with_tear:

once you activate , you should get a coupon in account IIRC.

You get a coupon for Absolute 6, which includes Halion 7. Very good value for 70% off.

I have coupons for Dorico, Wavelab and Absolute ONLY, Not for Halion 7 ALONE, I know Absolute 6 includes Halion 7 BUT, unfortunately I don’t have money to afford Absolute 6 even with 40% off, Halion 7 alone is enough for my needs. I’ll wait for Christmas or next summer!

Absolute at 70% off is still half the price of Halion by itself and even cheaper than buying a standalone license for just Groove Agent…

Hello Matthias. Thanks for the reply. Btw. Can I give him the code of my vaucher? And he will by ot using my vaucher? Or I need to purchase it and send to him an activation code?
Thanks

Yes, you can pass your voucher codes to a friend. They just have to redeem the code within the promotion period.
