This is a screenshot of my page. What I’m looking to do is to connect the bass notes with one connected stem going down as they’re the same notes just in different octaves, but Dorico seems to offset the notes from each other, which is what is seen in the screenshot. I looked through the engraving, layout, and notation options and couldn’t find a setting to fix this. Any help is appreciated.
It looks like you want to add two notes to the same voice.
Here is how to add additional notes to the stem from an already existing note.
(For example, Write mode, click on the notehead or its stem, shift-I, -8, enter, which will add the octave below to that note.) You might want to delete the bottom voice notes first (or vice versa, using 8 instead)
You can select more than one notehead and -8 will add the octave to them all.
Otherwise as @asherber said, which you do as you are inputting the notes.
Edit, you can select the various measures (selects all voices) then Edit, Filter, Voices so you only have the voice you need selected in each measure, then do the Note tools, which will only apply to that voice.
