Step by step guide to find out why Cubase crashes on startup

Hi,

Actually it is one project that I worked on all evening yesterday.

Cubase 10.0.60, MBP 2018 16 gigs ram, OSX Catalina 10.15.7

All my plugins are legit and up to date. (Using FabFilter ProQ3, a few Waves plugins, and Valhalla Vintage Verb on this project)

It’s only this project that will not open. How can I disable plugins ? I tried holding Shift while opening the project.

Any help is welcome.

Try to start Cubase in ‘Safe start’ mode, holding Ctrl-Alt-Shift keys combination (or its equivalent on OSX). You should have a window appearing that will allow you to tick a Deactivate all third party plug-ins option.

If there is no plug-in culprit, then it will be time to delete your preferences, using the related option in the same window, as a last resort…

I don’t know what was wrong with the preferences, but this trick fixed it.
