Steven Slate VSX 'Blocklisted'

I have own a brad new pair of Steven Slate VSX headphones. I have downloaded the software successfully, however Cubase 13 Pro has ‘BLOCKLISTED’ the plugin.
I use the same headphones and plugins at my workplace and on Cubase 13 pro without issue.

I have reached out to Steinberg and Steven Slate and had know feedback.
Please could someone advice. Thank you in advance.

Working fine for me here on Windows 11 with 13 Pro … Are you on Mac?

Hi I am on Windows 11.

Heard from Steven Slate customer service last night and they will be doing a remote access today hopefully, as I sent screen shots etc to no avail! :face_exhaling:

I haven’t had cause to use them, but I’m told that Slate’s customer service is exceptional.

Worth the effort - VSX is a game changer in every sense.

Unfortunately Slate Audio were unable to solve the ‘Blocklist’ issue. They did a remote access on my laptop and was not successful with various approaches…deleting VSX trying to reactivate fromm ‘Blocklist’ all failed. They advised it could be a security issue from Steinbergs side. I have reached out to support hoping they can provide a solution. Watch this space :eyes:

Hi,

Yes, it is. Cubase prevents a crash from faulty plug-in code.

They didn’t find anything from the crash file?

Hi, no mention of crash file to me! Slate Audio’s only feedback was just about Cubase security potentially preventing the plugin to work so they advised to contact Cubase support. It is strange as I use the same model headphones and Cubase pro 13 at work and there are no issues with the plugins. I’m hoping Cubase can resolve the issue as it is an expensive investment for me.

Hi,

Then what happens, if you remove the plug-in from the Blocklist manually on your side?

Hi, when attempting to remove manually, Cubase crashes and disappears.

Hi,

Then the *.dmp file must be created, which would point to the faulty method in the source code.

For the sake of comparison I am running VSX 4.60 (think 4.61 may be an update relevant to Mac?) VST 3.7.2 and I have the 25 Headphone range. Running Windows 11 Home 23H2 on an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 8-Core Processor 4.50 GHz with 32Gb RAM. All working fine here.

Can I suggest you chime in on a very enthusiastic forum on Gearspace - they are super knowledgeable.

If you are working on a Mac M-chip machine, you can open Cubase (13 or 14) using Rosetta and those plugins will work. Of course you are giving up some performance, so perhaps it’s time to look for replacement plugins.
