I’m really sorry to having to bring this matter up again.
I’ve read carefully all the threads about this.
I tried to delete everything from the last and next to last bar, but I can’t figure out what’s stopping me from erasing the last measure.
The sample file is attached.
I’ll be very grateful for any help.
Best regards
Stefano Rabaglia

Sorry, obviously I was meaning the last bar of the first flow.
Thanks, again

Select the bar with the system track and delete it. Or invoque the bar and barlines popover (shift B) and type -1

Dear Rafaelv,
Thank you so much.
That’s what I did of course. But when I reopen the file the bar is there once again.
I also tried to split the flow and delete. Nope.
Thank you.
Stefano

I think there was something odd in your project. Anyways, I got it to work. That bar should be gone now. [https://www.dropbox.com/s/8pz4ifdon4z75bz/delete%20final%20bar.dorico?dl=0](https://www.dropbox.com/s/8pz4ifdon4z75bz/delete%20final%20bar.dorico?dl=0)

I deleted the bar, added a final barline, saved and closed, then re-opened and changed the final to a normal barline. Not sure if all that fiddling was necessary, but it looks ok now.

Just deleting the bar, saving, closing, and re-opening the file seemed to work here. I think sometimes this can happen (bars at the end won’t stay deleted) when items have rhythmic duration beyond the desired endpoint of the flow - e.g. a pedal line. I wondered whether the last lyric might “think” it lasts longer than that one note, so if it’s still not working your end, you could try deleting the bar then deleting the last lyric and re-inputting it. If there were subsequent notes after that point when you initially input the lyrics, they can be left with extended duration I think.

I can also confirm that simply deleting, saving, and reopening worked fine for me too. Just to be sure: are you on the latest build? (3.5.11)

My problem is similar only I have two pages with one bar each. I’ve tried clicking the tracking bar. You’ll note it’s not even numbered. I moved the decrescendo to the left. Nothing changed. I can print without those last two pages, but I know that’s just a work around. I need to know what I’ve done wrong. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks, Connie

Those look like additional Flows. Delete them in Setup.

Could it be you’ve got two extra, empty flows?

Check in Setup mode

Is there a tutorial that explains this a little? I’m going to include my setup page so you can see what I have. I have this project finished. I just need those last two measures deleted.

Every time I click something, I create another “Empty-handed Player”. I running blind.

I just created and deleted another “flow”, so I don’t think those two extra measures are flows. I could be wrong. I don’t know how I would have created them though.

Those last two pages with the single crotchet rests are two empty flows.

They are. Look at the bottom of the screenshot. You see three blue rectangles. These represent the flows. If you don’t need the second and third, select both and press Delete.

[sigh] Thanks, Vadian. That was too easy! I finally got brave and actually deleted the flows even though the warning made me wonder if I was going to lose something. I did not. I appreciate your help.

FYI, I wrote the titles to each song in text above the beginning of each hymn. It worked.

If you want to keep the flows you can uncheck the tick/check box at the bottom in Setup to remove them from view. I am working on a piece which is a set of duets but 1 instrument caries and 1 instrument remains (classical guitar in this case). When I start a new section I hide the flows I don’t want to see and do a quick export once I have it “in rough” and so it doesn’t display other sections which might tend to be confusing to see.

Glad you found your answer and most importantly didn’t lose any of your creative work! That’s totally worth the “price of admission” that your efforts paid off and you can work away at what you want to be doing and not a procedural process and you’re scratching your head.

Continued good luck and happy composing!
