Still having problems with saving Montages

Still having problems with saving Montages. Yesterday we worked on a new montage for two hours. Saved it, tried to reopen it and it never appeared in the recent Montage list and we could not find it on the computer. 2 hours of work lost. We have all our montages in one folder and that is where we supposedly stored this one. (there are well over 1000 montages stored there). I am trying to figure out what is going wrong. I am on Windows 10 all updates and running a fast computer with ALL the hard drives checked. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions or fixes…

WL and other applications will not function effectively if Windows is malfunctioning.

Perhaps you should spend a day to reinstall Windows or upgrade to Windows 11 PC.

I remember tweaking registry a year ago, and for Ctrl+O WL 12 was also always going to C:\Users\Audio\Music

On reinstalling Win 11, everything was working fine.

Try performing a check health on your system:
open command prompt as administrator and run:

sfc /scannow

you might also run another command after that, if it finds errors and even if fixed:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Thanks for the suggestion I have already done that numerous times with no change in WL13.

Thanks!

I do not want to install Windows 11.

Then at least for once please consider reinstalling Win 10

It is a highly unusual problem.

If something is ‘saved as’ then it should obviously ‘save’.

And if I understand it, the massive montage folder is on the same drive as your session.

Being constructive, have you tried saving montages perhaps more conventionally within your session folder (or what ever term you prefer). I suggest this because everything seems to point to an issue with the mass storing of montages in a single folder.

Did that yesterday…I will be working on that computer today…here’s hoping!!!

Well I have been doing this since version 1.9.2 so??? The Montage folder is on my Windows’ hard drive and the work files and project is on a separate drive in the computer. Thanks for the reply.

Sure … but there’s been a few versions of Windoze (and WL) since 1.9.x

Given that the montage on a different drive to the underlying wav file, it just might be that this is something you might want to look at.

Anyway … best of luck

Reinstalled Windows 10 on Thursday. Hopefully that may clear up some of the problems. Thanks for your reply.
