Stop Dorico from opening VST plugin windows when opening a project

I understand that earlier versions of Dorico included a setting to “open VST plug-in windows when opening projects” and this could be turned on or off. This setting is no longer available in Dorico 6 and I have been unable to find a way to stop the automatic opening of plugin windows when opening a project. I’m thinking there must be a way to deactivate this behaviour but if so, have been unable to find it.

At least on Windows it’s still there (Dorico 6.2):

Ulf, thanks for the speedy response! Yes, the setting is still there on Mac too, although I believe it used to be under the General category and doesn’t show when I use the preferences search. However, the setting doesn’t seem to work—the box is not ticked to show plugin windows but when I open an orchestral piece with more than 20 instruments I automatically open more than 20 plugin windows and hope there is a way to avoid this.

Could it be that the window state is saved now in the project data. What if you close all the plug-in windows, then save the project and reopen, what does happen then?

that’s certainly what happens for me. I thought it was always like this but may be I’m mistaken?
