Bought a Cubase 14 Pro → 15 Pro update today. However, checkout was not working on Firefox 144.0.2 (Windows 10). I use uBlock Origin but that’s the only addon that might obviously interfere with the browser checkout process.
Behavior: Fill in the form, push the pay button, 1/2 second elapses, nothing happens, the form is back as it was before.
Switched to Edge, which I run without addons, checkout was fine. Hopefully I won’t wake up tomorrow and be billed for $1000 for some other clicks that “did nothing.”
This is probably not a Steinberg problem but a FastSpring problem – I thought I’d mention it anyway in case someone else had run into it and had a comment.
I’ve had no issues in the shop with this browser (Firefox) configured this way (w/ uBlock Origin) on multiple computers, for years, until now.
You can turn off uBlock Origin on a per-site basis and reload, and on Windows you can also completely refresh a page and reload with Ctrl-Shift-R, which I have found sometimes helps. I’ve never had problem on the FastSpring site with Windows 10/11, Firefox (latest) and uBlock Origin though.

Try disabling uBlock and Enhanced Tracking Protection for when trying the transaction.
When that doesn’t work, I installed Vivaldi and left everything at default settings for problems like this.
Why would you need sitewide tracking when you’re already giving Steinberg personal information upon purchase?
Not to veer into the weeds, but why would it be only Steinberg collecting information on a Steinberg web page? That’s a kind of purity that hasn’t existed since the first cross-site cookie was created in the 1990s.
I use a basic ad blocker (uBlock Origin) all the time unless I have a reason not to.
But I think the problem here is* with FastSpring’s ((presumptive) lack of) Firefox support anyway, not Steinberg. It could be a problem with their implementation running up against Firefox’s tracking protection.
*When I say “is” I mean “as of when I last tried it” which was now weeks ago.
